Karl Marx's thought on distributive justice and its current relevance

Invited are 40 scholars from Vietnam and 7 foreign speakers. The conference will focus on the following issues:

First, to assess the status and value of the principle of distributive justice in Karl Marx’s theory (in the critique of the capitalist production methods and the necessity of building a communist production system).

Second, to analyze and assess the application of the principle of distributive justice in Vietnam’s economic development (the role of the State in promoting economic development with social justice, ensure social welfare, proverty eradication, social policy, tax policy, minimum wage policy, etc.), especially in the renovation (Doi Moi) period and the development of a socialist-oriented market economy.

Third, to explore the experiences of other countries in applying and developing the principle of distributive justice (especially in the development of social market economy in Germany and socialist market economy in China), and to find out some suggestions for Vietnam.

Fourth, to bring about recommendations towards the Party and Vietnam’s Government to solve difficult problems in promoting more strongly social justice and social equality in the process of futher renovating the country in the future.
