“Rosa Luxemburg. The feminist liberation and the marxist philosophy of the revolution”, by Raya Dunayevskaya

Raya Dunayeskaya rescues the feminist  thought of Rosa Luxemburg and the passion for the revolution philosophy shared with Karl Marx writing a text in which the combination between the praxis and the theory become the main threads in this book.

The philosophy institute and the Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung will present this publication to contribute to rescue Rosa Luxemburg’s thoughts and to commemorate the 200 the anniversary of Karl Marx’s birthday.

We intend to call young people, academicians, students, teachers and the general public to participate in a discussion focused on validity of the approach developed by these authors almost 150 year ago.

Dunayeskaya. This book looks into the character of Luxemburg in order to analyze her way of thinking regarding the dialectical relationship between the spontaneity of masses and the party, which gets a new dimension if we consider the process which led Marx to transform the Hegelian revolution into a philosophy of revolution: “to save the idea of dehumanization, just as if self-determination were a matter of thoughts only, and not of human beings who think and act”.

This event is aimed at relaunching the feminist position of Rosa Luxemburg from a Marxist scope, thus paying tribute to both personalities in 2017.
